We are pleased to release the 2018 Harcourt North Shiraz, after a glowing review from Mike Bennie at the Winefront...
"From a single vineyard in Harcourt North comes another excellent wine from the small-scale but high quality producer, Trutta. Jake Winther is the man.
This wine revels in its cool climate poise, finesse and freshness. It’s a delight. If you like cool climate shiraz (let’s say syrah here), then you should push all your chips in.
High toned perfume marrying red-sour-sweet cherries, whiffs of old spice cupboard, brined black olives and undergrowth. A kind of autumnal, almost pinot noir-esque scent. The palate sits on medium weight well, edgy in raw, red and black berry flavours, shaped with fine, silty tannins that finish the wine in tandem with squeaky, amaro-touched acidity. It’s a wine of sleekness and yet a slightly wild edge.
Charisma, drinkability and goodness.
