Grown on sandy granitic loams in the Harcourt Valley, a cool climate pocket of Central Victoria. Farmed by Tim and Di, vineyard managed organically (certification in process). Rhone varieties thrive in this valley, and there are many similarities between the two regions, in particular the soil type.
Whole bunch pressed, fermented in stainless steel. 50% aged in old oak, 50% in stainless steel. Full malolactic fermentation action. Racked back together two weeks before bottling with 45ppm SO2 added.
Tastes of: Apricot, lemon curd, grapefruit, zingy citrus pith. Heaps of structure, but backed up with good drive and persistent acidity.
