2021 Gewürztraminer, Skin Contact
Grown on sandy granitic loams in Baynton East, located amidst the rolling hills of the northern Macedon Ranges. Farmed by Cal and Rosemary, vineyard managed organically. A cool site, at approx 500m ASL.
A field blend primarily of Gerwurz, with some Chardonnay too. Destemmed into tank, and allowed to macerate on skins for 7 days. Pressed off into 50% stainless and 50% old oak for ferment and elevage. Full malolactic fermentation, and racked back together in tank for a couple of weeks before bottling.
45ppm SO2 at bottling.
Tastes of: Guava, tropical fruit juice box, lime and lemon zest.
