Sandy granitic soils, grown at high elevation, around 475m, on the cool south side of Mt Alexander. A few locals have nicknamed the vineyard site \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.indigenous.gov.au\/news-and-media\/stories\/leanganook-his-teeth-place\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eLeanganook\u003c\/a\u003e - this is the indigenous name for Mt Alexander.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e \u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eThis is probably the coolest site in the Bendigo GI, facing south towards Mt Macedon. This site cops a lot of the cooler south westerly weather patterns, and is a proper cool climate site, making it ideal for Pinot Noir. We are very excited to continue working with the Pinot grown on this granite.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWinemaking:\u003cbr\u003eThis is one of our last picks of the year, with plenty of hang time to develop flavour. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cdiv title=\"Page 10\" class=\"page\"\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"layoutArea\"\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"column\"\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll fruit destemmed, and fermented in open fermenters for 14 days. The wine undergoes elevage in old french oak puncheons over winter.
